Rich actually had his career start in the black and white world of accounting. He graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree from Nichols College in 1990 and obtained his C.P.A. while working for the accounting firm of Bollus/Lynch of Worcester, Massachusetts.

Rich joined Exsel Advertising in 1993, attracted by the colorful challenges within the advertising and marketing fields. His addition to the Exsel Advertising roster also created a family business. He is the eldest son of Donna Messier, CEO of Exsel Advertising, Inc.

In his 15 years at Exsel, Rich has fulfilled many key roles. He has overseen the migration to a completely digital creative and production workflow within the agency. He continues to be responsible for making sure Exsel Advertising stays on top of the technology curve by way of personnel training and IT investments.

His close work within the creative and production environments proves very valuable in his account supervision role. Rich services a broad spectrum of accounts – Quabaug Corporation, Cognex Corporation, EMC and MeadWestvaco…to name a few.

Rich is also active in a number of area charity organizations. He is currently on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Central Massachusetts and served a term as President for the Spencer chapter of the National Exchange Club.
